Federal Court practice-- attorney of record for over 350 criminal cases in Federal Courts in Nebraska, Southern District of Iowa, Northern District of Iowa, Western District of Missouri, District of Idaho, District of Nevada, Eastern District of Michigan, Southern District of Florida, Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
Experienced in handling complex white collar cases, controlled substance conspiracies, wire interceptions, violent federal crimes, corporate antitrust prosecutions, and death penalty habeas corpus litigation. Have served as Chairman of the Federal Practice Committee for the District of Nebraska and have been the Criminal Justice Act District Panel Representative since 1995.
State Court practice—Representation of all types of felony and misdemeanor charges since 1982 in County and District Courts in Nebraska. Appellate practice in the Nebraska Court of Appeals and the Nebraska Supreme Court.
Participated in more than 85 jury trials and more than a thousand motion hearings including motions to suppress, quash, and dismiss. Provided representation on numerous death penalty cases as trial, appellate, or postconviction counsel. Successful in resentencings in 3 death penalty cases.
